Mumbai-Pune Missing Link Update: The Mumbai-Pune missing link is steadily progressing, nearing completion, and is expected to reduce travel time between the two cities. Once completed, the missing link will reduce the travel time between Mumbai and Pune by 30 minutes, making journeys faster and more efficient.

This 13.3-kilometre, eight-lane road features two massive tunnels, a 170-meter cable-stayed bridge, and viaducts, showcasing cutting-edge engineering.

Mumbai-Pune Missing Link: How Stretch Will Reduce Travel Time

The new road will bypass the congested and hazardous Lonavala-Khandala ghat section, providing a safer and more efficient route for travellers. By avoiding this section, the road will reduce the distance by approximately six kilometres, allowing vehicles to travel at speeds of up to 120 km/h. This improvement is expected to significantly enhance the overall travel experience and reduce travel time.

- Twin Tunnels: The missing link features two extensive tunnels, measuring 9 km and 2 km in length, designed to facilitate smooth traffic flow.

- Cable-Stayed Bridge: A striking 650-meter bridge at Tiger Valley, towering 132 feet above, showcasing engineering excellence.

- Viaduct: A majestic viaduct standing nearly 180 meters tall, one of India's highest, ensuring safe and efficient passage.

The last part of the work involves safety checks like lighting, ventilation, monitoring systems, emergency exits, and getting official permissions.
