Mumbai Rain:Traffic slowed to a crawl on the Western Express Highway near Vile Parle as heavy rain battered Mumbai, severely impacting the morning commute. Waterlogged roads and poor visibility led to long delays and widespread congestion. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued rainfall alerts across Maharashtra, placing Mumbai, Pune, and nearby districts under close watch as monsoon showers intensify. Commuters across the city faced significant disruptions as the adverse weather conditions continued to affect daily life.
Several parts of Mumbai experienced heavy rainfall early Monday morning, resulting in widespread waterlogging. According to the weather department, residents can also expect thunderstorms and gusty winds in addition to the downpour. The intense rainfall disrupted local train services, leading to delays and causing significant inconvenience to thousands of commuters.

Maharashtra Districts On Alert
Beyond Mumbai and Pune, several other districts are also on alert for heavy rainfall. Nashik, Satara, Kolhapur, Sangli, and Ahmednagar are expected to experience heavy showers at isolated locations, especially during the first two days. Meanwhile, Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg face the highest risk, with forecasts predicting very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall. Palghar and Thane have also been issued warnings for very heavy rainfall, particularly within the initial 48-hour period.

Monday: 47.6 mm rain; temperatures between 25.2 and 26 Degree Celsius.
Tuesday: Heavy showers, 119.61 mm; winds up to 37.4 km/h
Wednesday: 93.32 mm rain; winds peaking at 39.2 km/h
Thursday: Rainfall eases to 22.8 mm; maximum temperature 27.7 Degree Celsius.
Friday: Light showers, only 3.88 mm; 26.3 to 28 Degree Celsius.
Saturday: Moderate showers return with 7.1 mm expected
Mumbai experienced heavy rainfall on Sunday, with temperatures ranging between 25.1 Degree Celsius and 25.7 Degree Celsius. Humidity soared to 90 percent, accompanied by wind speeds of up to 27.4 km/h. The Santacruz observatory recorded 85 mm of rain by 8:30 am, while Colaba logged 55 mm. This followed a particularly wet Saturday, when Santacruz received 245 mm and Colaba 85 mm. According to data from the BMC’s automatic weather system, several areas across the city registered over 100 mm of rainfall in the past 24 hours.
