Mumbai Water Cut News: Mumbai residents across 17 wards will face a 15 per cent reduction in water supply this weekend as the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) prepares to carry out major pipeline replacement work. The cut will now be enforced from 10 AM on December 8 to 10 AM on December 9. This follows a change in schedule after the civic body postponed the earlier plan to avoid disruption during Mahaparinirvan Diwas on December 6.
Major Pipeline Replacement At Bhandup Plant
Civic officials confirmed that engineers will replace a key section of the 2,750mm water channel that carries water from the Tansa dam to the Bhandup water treatment plant. The new infrastructure is expected to strengthen supply to the city, but the 24-hour operation will temporarily lower the volume of water reaching the plant by 15 per cent.
