Mumbai Rain Alert: Several key regions of Mumbai received heavy rainfall on Tuesday, providing major relief from the scorching heat. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) stated that the city and other districts of Maharashtra are likely to receive light to heavy rainfall till July 25. Apart from heavy rainfall, these districts are also likely to witness thunderstorms and gusty winds with speeds of 40-50 kmph. The weather department has advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences.

While providing details, the IMD stated that Konkan and other coastal regions of the state are likely to receive heavy rainfall for the next few days. "Widespread rainfall activity with Heavy to Very Heavy rainfall at a few places is very likely over Konkan and adjoining ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra is expected during the July 21 - 25 period. There is a possibility of lightning and thunder accompanied by occasional gusty winds reaching 40-50 kmph," IMD stated in its warning.

The weather department stated several regions of Mumbai, including Haji Ali pumping station, Malabar Hill, Nair Hospital, Lower Parel, Chakala, Vihar Lake, Dongari Andheri, and Powai, witnessed rainfall in the past 24 hours. The IMD further stated that while the maximum temperature of the city is likely to be calculated at 29 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature is expected to remain around 24 degrees Celsius.

Several parts of Maharashtra are likely to receive rainfall due to an upper air cyclonic circulation over south Odisha and nearby regions. The weather department has advised the fishermen to limit their financial activities to avoid any inconveniences.

Apart from Maharashtra, several other states, including Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Gujarat, West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Bihar, are also set to witness rainfall for the next few days.
