Mumbai Weather: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall in Mumbai over the weekend, prompting a yellow alert for June 15 and 16. As per the IMD’s 48-hour forecast issued on June 15, there is a likelihood of heavy rain at isolated places across the city and suburbs. Maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to be around 31 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius, respectively.

Light rain has already been observed since last night, though there have been no major issues related to waterlogging so far. However, weather officials have advised caution as more intense showers are expected in the coming days. According to IMD, heavy rain is likely to continue in the city till June 17.

Mumbai High Tide

Today, a high tide of 4.49 metres is expected at 2:45 PM, which may cause sea waves to rise up to 14 feet. With heavy rainfall and high tides occurring at the same time, the risk of waterlogging in low-lying areas increases. This may lead to local travel disruptions, especially during peak hours.

Mumbai Weather Forecast Till June 21

Looking ahead, the weather is expected to remain cloudy throughout the week, with occasional rain continuing from June 17 to 21. During this period, no weather warning has been issued and rainfall is likely to be moderate. Daily temperatures will remain steady between 30 degrees Celsius and 32 degrees Celsius.

The IMD has stated that the recent shift in weather conditions is due to the reactivation of the southwest monsoon, which had briefly weakened earlier. Officials have advised citizens to remain alert and plan their travel accordingly, especially during high tide hours.
