In separate news, a 19-year-old college student from Kausarbaug in Kondhwa, Pune, was arrested on Friday for allegedly posting an Instagram message ending with the phrase “Pakistan Zindabad.” The arrest followed a complaint filed by police constable Subhash Jarande at Kondhwa police station.

The post was flagged during a regular online monitoring exercise amid ongoing military tensions between India and Pakistan. According to police, the content was considered objectionable and potentially harmful to public peace. Deputy Commissioner of Police Rajkumar Shinde confirmed the arrest, stating that the matter is under investigation.

The student has been charged under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for promoting enmity, hurting religious sentiments, provoking unrest, and threatening national integrity.

The post triggered strong reactions, with members of the ‘Sakal Hindu Samaj’ staging protests and demanding strict action. To avoid public disturbance during the court hearing, a female officer disguised herself as the student while escorting her to court. The court granted five-day police custody to allow investigators to examine possible links with anti-national elements.

The FIR includes sections 152, 196, 197, 299, 352, and 353 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
