Baba Siddique Murder Probe:  A week after Maharashtra political leader Baba Siddique was killed, Mumbai Police's crime branch will again record the statements of his security personnel as part of the investigation. Baba Siddique, who was shot dead outside his MLA son Zeeshan Siddique's office in Bandra on October 12, was provided with a 2+1 security cover by the state government.

Two security personnel guarded him during the day and one at night. On the day of the incident, he had two security personnel with him when he reached the office of Zeeshan, however, one of the guards left there, and one remained with Baba Siddique.

Siddique was shot dead around 9:30 in the evening under the garb of the fireworks and Dusshera procession. According to the police sources, there were four people present around the office when Siddique came. Among them, three were shooters, and one was a co-conspirator. They waited around his car, and when Siddique came outside to board the vehicle, the assassins let off some device which covered the area with thick smoke.

Many thought it was the smoke from the firecrackers, and the sound from the device also masked gunshot noises. The reconstruction of the murder also indicated that the killers had some sort of powder with them, which they threw at the lone police constable with Siddique. The constable had described it as chilli powder. The guard claimed as something was thrown into his eyes, he couldn't retaliate at the moment, an NDTV report stated, quoting sources.

The three shooters then fired six shots, hitting Siddique in the chest and stomach and also injuring one of his aides.
