Mumbai Local Train Update: Mumbai is experiencing the onset of the monsoon season, with very heavy rainfall causing challenges for the mumbai local commuters. Heavy rain on Monday has severely impacted suburban train services, leading to delays and disruptions across several key stations, according to railway authorities.

The Central Railway reported that train operations were particularly affected at Sion and between Bhandup and Nahur stations due to waterlogging on the tracks. Initially, Mumbai local trains were stopped for nearly an hour as the tracks were flooded. Although the water has since receded, the disruptions continue to plague the network.

In a Twitter update, the Central Railway further elaborated, "#CRupdate at 6.30 hrs on 08.07.2024. Meanwhile, the Western Railway has assured commuters that despite the heavy downpour, their suburban services are running normally to ensure a safe commute for Mumbaikars. High-capacity water pumps are being utilised to drain the water, and railway staff are closely monitoring the situation to keep the city's lifeline running smoothly.

Commuters are advised to check for updates and plan their travel accordingly, as the situation remains fluid. Several viral videos have emerged, showcasing the waterlogging at various stations, including Dadar, where the tracks have been submerged. Western Railway stated in a post on X that "Mumbai Suburban trains are experiencing delays of up to 10 minutes due to water above track level between Matunga Rd and Dadar caused by heavy rains.

This is not the first time that heavy rainfall has disrupted local train operations in Mumbai. Yesterday, services between Kasara and Titwala stations were halted due to waterlogging and a fallen tree near Vashind station.
