Bandra-Dharavi Bridge Update: The first phase of the flyover between Bandra and Dharavi is almost ready and will soon be open for commuters. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has announced that the first phase of the Bandra-Dharavi bridge reconstruction project is nearing completion, with almost 90% of the first stage finished.
Once operational, it will significantly ease traffic congestion between Bandra and Dharavi, providing a direct link to the Mahim Causeway flyover. The bridge will offer two southbound lanes, providing direct access to the Mahim Causeway flyover and reducing congestion in the area.

Bandra-Dhravi Opening Date
The first phase of the bridge is expected to be ready for use by November 30, 2025. The Bandra-Dharavi bridge, spanning the Mithi River, is being rebuilt in two phases. Once the first phase is operational, work on the second phase will commence, with a goal to complete the entire bridge within 18 months.
Abhijit Bangar, Additional Municipal Commissioner (Projects), emphasised meeting deadlines and instructed teams to secure necessary traffic approvals before construction begins to ensure a smooth commute for citizens.

Worli Bridge Project Update
On the other hand, BMC officials also inspected the new Worli bridge project near Annie Besant Road and E Moses Road, which aims to enhance connectivity between Worli, Mahalaxmi, and Lower Parel. The bridge is currently 30% complete, with a targeted completion date of December 2026
