Mumbai Horror: A minor girl accused her mother and their male neighbour of pushing her into prostitution to earn money in Mumbai. Based on a complaint filed by the girl's class teacher, her mother and the neighbour were booked under several sections of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Police said based on the complaint, her mother and the man were booked under relevant sections of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita, including 64 (rape), 98 (selling child for the purpose of prostitution) and also sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, and further investigation is underway, the officials said.

Mother Pushed Girl Into Prostitution For Money: Police

According to police, the girl studying in Class 10 has accused her mother and their male neighbour of pushing her into prostitution to earn money. Acting promptly, the police registered a case and launched a probe into the matter. A case was registered at the Ghatkopar police station on Tuesday night based on the complaint filed by the girl's school teacher.

Girl Subjected To Torture: Police Complaint

The girl alleged that from April this year till the time the complaint was filed, the duo forced her into prostitution to earn money. Fed up with the torture, the girl mustered courage and shared her ordeal with a friend. After that, they met the class teacher, seeking help.

She told the latter that once she ran away from her house and stayed at her friend's place for three days. But when she returned home, she was again pushed into the flesh trade, the police said. The teacher was shocked to know this and informed her school authorities, who in turn alerted the local police.
