Nagpur News: In a bid to ease traffic congestion at the notorious Amravati Road, a new flyover from Bole Petrol Pump to Futala Square is set to be opened for trial use in the first week of September. The Public Works Department (PWD) has completed the main structure and is working on final touches, including traffic safety features, which have caused a slight delay in the launch.
The flyover is a part of a broader Amravati Road Traffic Involvement Project (ARTIP) worth Rs 478 crore, with the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways leading the project.
Details About Bole Petrol Pump-Futala Square Flyover
- Originally slated for completion in March 2024, the Rs 245 crore flyover connecting Bole Petrol Pump to Futala Square is planned to be open in the first week of September, Times of India reported.
- The flyover aims to reduce traffic congestion on the busy Amravati Road and reduce travel time between the two key points. The flyover will also boost connectivity to Ravi Nagar, University Square and Futala Square.

- According to a senior PWD official, the work on the main structure was completed in August, and final touches are underway.“But we still need to install rumble strips, do painting, road markings, and put up signboards. We couldn’t do the road markings because of the rain, as the thermoplastic paint needs a dry surface. We will finish everything by 3 or 4 September, and then open the flyover to the public,” the official said.
- Similar to the Wadi flyover, this flyover will open for trial use, followed by an official inauguration soon.
- Currently, the road connecting Bole Petrol Pump to Law College Square is closed, prompting commuters to take a detour through Civil Lines.
- However, the authorities have assured that the road concreting in this section will be completed in 15 days, after which the road will be reopened for commuters.
The upcoming flyover, along with Wadi Flyover, is a part of the Rs 478 crore Amravati Road Traffic Improvement Project (ARTIP), led by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, aiming to reduce congestion along Amravati Road.
