Apli PMPML App Launched: Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML), on the occasion of Independence Day, launched its mobile application, 'Apli PMPML' today. Android devices will be able to download the app on August 17. PMPML's Chairperson and Managing Director (CMD), Deepa Mudhol Munde, officially launched the app.

Speaking to The Free Press Journal, Satish Ghate, Public Relations Officer, PMPML, said, "The app will be very helpful to passengers. It will provide vital information and services to the users at their fingertips. It will also allow users to purchase Pune Metro tickets, making it a comprehensive tool for public transportation in the city."

Users may access information about all bus routes from their present location to their chosen destination by using the 'Apli PMPML' app. The live location function will also be present. The service also offers UPI payments, online ticket booking, and lodging complaints.

For more than a year, PMPML's mobile application was being developed. The transport agency used an app called PMP e-connect, which former CMD Tukaram Mundhe introduced in 2017. However, the application lost its relevance with his sudden withdrawal in 2018.

Following the app's release, Parisar, a non-profit organisation located in Pune that promotes sustainable urban development, expressed its happiness. They had started the #AppKaraBusKara campaign to draw attention to how important the app is.

The initiative came about as a result of a series of workshops that identified the absence of precise and easily accessible information on bus routes and timetables as one of the main barriers to the broad adoption of public transportation in Pune.

Tanzeel Allapur, Project Associate, Parisar, said, “We are thrilled that PMPML has responded positively to the voices of Pune’s citizens. The launch of this app is a significant step forward in making public transportation more accessible and reliable. However, our work doesn’t stop here. We will keep the momentum going, monitoring the app’s performance with how user-friendly it is and ensuring that any user issues are promptly addressed to make this app a true success.”
