In a chilling incident, three people, including two cousins, were killed in Pune after a speeding car crashed into a metro station pillar during the wee hours of Sunday.

The disturbing visuals from a nearby CCTV footage have gone viral on social media, with netizens bursting out at over-speeding and rash driving.

The video shows a black car losing control and ramming a pillar near Bund Garden Metro Station. The incident took place at around 5:00 am.

All three victims were inside the car. Two of them died on the spot, and while the other, a friend, was critically wounded and was rushed to the hosptal. He succumbed to the injuries later. The impact of the hit was so severe that the body of one of the deceased came out of the rear windshield, hanging.

The deceased have been identified as Yash Bhandari and Hritik Bhandari, both 23 and  Kushwant Tekwani.

Tekwani was rushed to Sassoon Hospital by the locals but died while getting treatment. Reacting to the incident, the police said that prima facie it seems that the driver lost control of the vehicle, which resulted in the tragic accident.

The police have also found liquor bottles inside the car, and as per initial investigation, the men may have been under the influence of alcohol, which became the reason for the loss of control.
