Pune Murder: In relation to a firing incident in Pune that resulted in the death of former Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) corporator Vanraj Andekar, police arrested two accused. The police are presently questioning the accused, who were arrested.
The incident happened on Sunday night at about 8:30 PM in the Nana Peth neighbourhood of Pune, close to Doke Talim, where Andekar lived. He was shot five times, according to police, after which he was taken to the hospital but died from his wounds.
The autopsy of Andekar's body will take place at Sassoon Hospital.
Police believe that financial problems and family strife were the driving forces behind the murder. They believe that because of past animosity, Andekar was shot by a close relative. After firing five bullets at him from a bike, the attacker proceeded to assault him with sharp objects.
