Pune-Mumbai Expressway News: The Maharashtra government has given a green light to plan to install eight new electric vehicle charging stations along the Pune-Mumbai Expressway, boosting EV infrastructure in the region. The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) is set to begin site surveys soon to identify optimal locations for these stations.
This initiative aims to support the growing number of electric vehicles on the road. With over 5.58 lakh registered EVs in Maharashtra, the state's efforts to expand charging infrastructure are crucial for promoting sustainable transportation.
According to an MSRDC department release, each station will be capable of charging various electric vehicles one after another. Joint managing director, MSRDC, Mumbai, Rajesh Patil said, “The growing number of EVs using the Pune–Mumbai Expressway makes it necessary to provide charging infrastructure,” news portal HT quoted.
