Pune Traffic Advisory For April 14: Pune traffic police have announced changes to traffic flow in several areas of the city due to the anticipated high crowds for Dr Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar Jayanti on Monday, April 14. To handle the expected throng, traffic will be diverted in key locations such as the District Collector's Office, the Camp area near Aurora Towers, the Dandekar Bridge, and Vishrantwadi.
On the occasion, thousands of followers from Pune's urban and suburban regions are anticipated to visit the Dr Ambedkar statue next to the District Collector's Office.
There will be other traffic arrangements in place to guarantee easy mobility and prevent congestion. Amol Zende, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), has advised commuters to stick to the approved detours.
Pune Traffic Advisory: Check Diversions
There will be a diversion of traffic from Mangalwar Peth's Shahir Amar Shaikh Chowk towards Maldhakka Chowk. Instead, vehicles should travel to their destinations via RTO Chowk via Jahangir Hospital. Likewise, Tadiwala Road and the Jahangir Hospital route should be taken by vehicles traveling from RTO Chowk to Maldhakka.
Vehicles heading to the District Collector's Office from the General Post Office (GPO) will be detoured via Kirad Chowk and Nehru Memorial Chowk. Similarly, traffic would be rerouted from Pune Station to the Collector's Office.
Traffic will be rerouted via 15 August Chowk, Kamla Nehru Hospital, Pawale Chowk, and Kumbharves from Narpatgiri Chowk in Somwar Peth towards Maldhakka Chowk. Likewise, traffic will be rerouted from Banerjee Chowk to Shahir Amar Shaikh Chowk.
Traffic restrictions will also be implemented at Vishrantwadi due to the large-scale celebrations there and the heavy foot traffic near the Dr Ambedkar statue in the Camp area.
To prevent delays and traffic, authorities have asked residents to cooperate with the modifications and adjust their travel plans appropriately.
