Pune Traffic Advisory: In preparation for the President of India’s visit to Symbiosis University in Lavale on September 3, the Pune District Collector and District Magistrate have announced traffic diversions to ensure smooth movement and public safety. The notification from the District Collector’s office states that all light, heavy and extra-heavy vehicles will be redirected from 12:01 AM to 4:00 PM on the day of the visit.

To manage traffic effectively, vehicles travelling via the Nandegaon-Sunnyworld and Sus routes will be rerouted. Traffic will be diverted from Nandegaon-Male towards Pune via Hinjewadi, and from Nandegaon-Pirangut to Chandni Chowk. Authorities are encouraging residents to use these alternative routes to minimise congestion.

Exemptions from the diversion include vehicles belonging to the police, revenue department, fire brigade, ambulances and other essential services.

In a separate news, The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Pune district, forecasting thunderstorms and lightning until September 6. The city is expected to experience a generally cloudy sky with moderate rainfall, with temperatures ranging between 21 degrees Celsius and 28 degrees Celsius and relative humidity fluctuating between 79 per cent and 86 per cent.

Throughout the upcoming week, Pune will see varying intensities of rain. On September 3 and 4, moderate rain is expected with temperatures between 22 degrees Celsius and 29 degrees Celsius. September 5 will bring light rain, while September 6 and 7 are also predicted to have rainfall, with maximum temperatures around 28 degrees Celsius to 29 degrees Celsius.

Additionally, yellow, orange, and red alerts have been issued for various regions in Maharashtra. Nandurbar, Dhule, Nashik, Ahmednagar and other areas are under a yellow alert. Aurangabad has been issued an orange alert for very heavy rain, and Amravati is under a red alert for extremely heavy rainfall.
