Pune Viral Video: In Pimpri’s Premlok Park area of Pune, a tree recently became the centre of religious attention after locals noticed water dripping from its trunk. Residents believed it was a divine sign and began offering prayers, flowers, turmeric and vermilion to the tree, considering the water holy.

The tree, located near Sahara Society, quickly drew crowds after videos of the unusual sight circulated on social media. Many people thought the water had spiritual properties and started performing rituals, turning the spot into an impromptu place of worship.

However, the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) stepped in after being informed by concerned citizens. Engineers from the civic body inspected the site and discovered a much simpler explanation.

The Punekar News report cited Deputy Engineer Pravin Dhumal stated that, an old underground water pipeline had developed a leak. The water from the pipe had found its way through the hollow trunk of the Gulmohar tree, creating the illusion that water was emerging from the tree itself.

"There was no miracle here. The pipeline beneath the tree had burst, and the water was seeping through the trunk," Dhumal explained.

Following the discovery, the municipal staff turned off the water supply and began repair work. The tree has not been harmed in the process.

The incident has triggered a conversation online, with many users raising concerns about the rise of superstition in urban areas. While some questioned how such beliefs still take root in cities, others stressed the need for better awareness and scientific thinking.

"Why are urban areas seeing more of this?" asked one user. Another commented, "It’s 2025—how do we still fall for this?"
