Why Will Pune Face A Full-Day Water Shutdown?

To facilitate the connection of two 1,400 mm pipelines to a newly installed main line, the Water Supply Department has announced a full-day water shutdown across most areas of Pune. The scheduled water cut will ensure that the work is carried out safely and efficiently.

Nandkumar Jagtap, Head of the Water Supply Department, said that the water supply from the Bhama-Askhed Dam to the Nagar Road area will remain uninterrupted, ensuring residents in the region continue to have access to water, Times Now reported.

Authorities have advised residents in affected areas to store adequate water in advance and use it judiciously during the outage. According to the officials, these essential upgrades are essential for improving the overall infrastructure and management of the city’s water supply system.
