Pune Weather Update:  Pune is expected to experience light to moderate rainfall over the next five days, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD issuing an alert for isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall in several ghat regions of the district on July 5 and 6. The weather department has advised citizens to remain cautious while travelling through hilly areas such as Lonavala, Tamhini and Lavasa, due to the risk of waterlogging and flash floods.

Pune Weather: Check Forecast Till July 8

July 5 (Saturday):  IMD predicted light to moderate rainfall in Pune on July 5. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in higher-elevation areas.

July 6 (Sunday):  Similar to the forecast of July 5, Pune City is likely to experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rainfall on July 6 too. Heavy showers are likely to occur in the ghat regions.

July 7 (Monday):  Light to moderate rainfall is likely to continue on July 7 with overcast skies.

July 8 (Tuesday):  Though IMD has issued no alert for July 8, light to moderate showers are in place for July 8. The city is likely to experience cloudy skies too.

Pune Weather: Ghat Regions To Witness Heavy Rains

According to IMD data, the ghat regions of Pune received heavy showers on July 3 and 4. Several ghat regions, like Kurvande, Bhor, Girivan, and Nimgiri, recorded 116.5 mm, 92.0 mm, 82.0 mm and 62.5 mm of rainfall, respectively. These regions are likely to experience intense rainfall activity with chances of flooding.

The other areas of the city, like Pashan, Shivajinagar, Chinchwad, Hadapsar and NDA recorded 13.9 mm, 13.5 mm, 9.5 mm, 9.0 mm and 5.5 mm of rainfall, respectively. The IMD has advised to stay alert via official weather bulletins and avoid non-essential travel to ghat regions. The Pune Municipal Corporation and disaster management authorities are on high alert to respond to emergencies.
