A man has been booked for allegedly filming a woman employee of a jewellery shop in a dressing room in Maharashtra’s Thane. The incident took place on the night of August 23 after the woman completed her duty at the shop situated in the Chitalsar area.

The woman realised that someone was watching her and noticed a man filming her on his mobile phone through a peehole of the dressing room, news agency PTI reported citing an official.

Following this, the woman raised an alarm and suddenly came out of the dressing room and alerted the staff. However, the accused, identified as  Pratik Mhatre, managed to run away.

Police authorities are investigating whether Mhatre was a staffer or a customer. Following the incident, a case was registered under sections 77(Voyeurism) and 78 (stalking) of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS).
