Thane Traffic Advisory: The Thane Police has announced a major traffic diversion on Thane-Ghodbunder Highway 84 between Gaimuk Nirakendra, Kajupada, and Fountain Hotel as the Public Works Department (PWD) and Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) will be carrying out essential work on the road.

In its official notification, the Thane Police stated, "The traffic control notification will not apply to police vehicles, fire brigade, ambulances, green corridor, oxygen gas vehicles and other essential service vehicles."

Timings and reason

The diversions will remain in place from 00:01 AM on December 12 to 23:59 PM on December 14. The PWD and TMC will carry out DBM and mastic work on the road between Gaimukh Nirakendra, Kajupada and Fountain Hotel.

- According to the advisory, all heavy vehicles going towards Ghodbunder Road from Mumbai and Thane will be stopped at Y Junction and Kapurbawdi Junction.

Alternate Route: All heavy vehicles going towards Ghodbunder Road from Mumbai, Thane can proceed straight via Nashik Road from this Y-junction via Kharegaon Toll Plaza, Mankoli, Anjurphata.

2. All heavy vehicles going towards Ghodbunder Road from Mumbai, Thane can take a right turn near Kapurbawadi Junction and proceed to the desired destination via Kasheli, Ajurphata.

- All heavy vehicles going towards Ghodbunder Road from Mumbra, Kalwa will be stopped at Kharegaon Toll Plaza.

Alternate Route: Vehicles going from Mumbra, Kalwa, towards Ghodbunder Road will have to go via Kharegaon Khadi Bridge, Kharegaon Toll Plaza, Mankoli, Anjurphata.

- Heavy vehicles going towards Ghodbunder Road from Nashik will be stopped at Mankoli Naka.

Alternate Route:  Heavy vehicles going towards Ghodbunder Road from Nashik will have to take a right turn under Mankoli Bridge and proceed to the desired destination via Ajurphata.

-Light Vehicles: Light vehicles going from Thane towards Ghodbunder can travel from Gaimukh Chowki on the Ghodbunder Thane road using the wrong side and then through the cut in front of Fountain Hotel.
