The Vande Bharat Express train will soon be making its first on-screen appearance after the Western Railway approved its usage for commercial production, according to authorities. The shooting took place at Mumbai Central station on Wednesday.

Shoojit Sircar, an award-winning director, is the first to shoot aboard the Vande Bharat Express train at Mumbai Central Station, one of the main Western Railway railway terminus, on platform number five.

One of the two Vande Bharat trains that travel on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad line did not run on Wednesday, according to WR authorities, who explained their choice. For maintenance, it is kept parked in the car shed or station yard.

"According to policy standards, we permitted the use of this non-plying train for the filming," an official stated.

He said, the Railways made about Rs 23 lakh from the shooting, which was somewhat more than the Rs 20 lakh the semi-high-speed train made on its one trip between Mumbai and Ahmedabad the day before.

“We often allow trains, stations, and other railway premises for commercial purposes as per the set guidelines. This is for the first time that a Vande Bharat Express train was allowed for film shooting," said Western Railway’s Chief PRO Vineet Abhishek.

He indicated that in order to prevent any disturbance to passengers, similar approvals will be granted.

According to Abhishek, non-fare profits from film shooting on railroads are utilised to upgrade the facilities and assets of the railways.
