6 Lesser-Known Facts About Goddess Sita

1. Goddess Sita was born to King Janaka and Queen Sunaina in Mithila, which is located in the modern-day Nepal. Sita, which means "furrow," is how she got her name because she was born from a field's furrow. She goes by the name "Bhumije" and is thought to be Mother Earth's child.

2. Another little-known fact about Goddess Sita is that in some Ramayana interpretations, Devi Sita is referred to as "Maya Sita," a delusion. While the true Sita found safety with the fire god Agni, who transported her to the residence of Goddess Parvati, these versions depict Maya Sita as having been captured by Ravana. When the conflict was over, she later got back together with Lord Ram. Some people think that Maya Sita's next incarnation was Draupadi.

3. The goddess Sita is thought to be a rebirth of Vedvati, who was harassed by Ravana while undergoing penance in order to become Lord Vishnu's spouse. In her next existence, Vedvati cursed Ravana to be the reason for his own demise.

4. The knowledge and insight of Goddess Sita are very widely recognised. Goddess Sita was well-versed in the sacred texts and had a deep comprehension of dharma.

5. In certain Ramayana narratives, Devi Sita was the firstborn child of Ravana and Mandodari. Astrologers, however, foretold that Mandodari's first kid would bring about the end of their entire lineage. Consequently, Ravana left the child behind and gave the order to bury her in a distant place. After finding the baby, King Janak and his spouse chose to raise her as the princess of Mithila.
