Chaitra Navratri 2024 Day 5: Goddess Skandmata is worshipped on the fifth day of Navratri. She is regarded as the mother of Skanda (Lord Kartikeya). She is the fifth incarnation of Goddess Durga, and she represents compassion, motherhood, and an affectionate heart. Usually depicted with four hands, Skandamata is seen clutching lotus blooms in her upper two hands. She is holding Lord Kartikeya in one of her right hands, and she has her other right hand in the Abhaya Mudra. She is sometimes referred to as Goddess Padmasana, perched atop a lotus blossom. Those who pray to her in this form are also blessed with the ability to adore Lord Kartikeya. The goddess Skandamata is described as having a Shubhra complexion, which is a synonym for being white or pure.
