Chaitra Navratri 2025 Day 3: The third day of Chaitra Navratri falls on 1st April 2025. Goddess Chandraghanta is worshipped on this day. According to the Shiva Maha Purana, Mata Chandraghanta embodies the 'shakti' or feminine energy of Lord Shiva, specifically in his form as Chandrashekhara. This powerful union represents the harmonious balance of masculine and feminine energies, symbolised by the Ardhanarishvara.

Goddess Chandraghanta is often depicted riding a tiger, showcasing her fearless and courageous nature. With ten arms, she wields an array of weapons, including a sword, trident and bow. This powerful goddess embodies spiritual and internal strength, radiating calm and peace. However, she can also unleash her fierce energy to destroy evil and protect righteousness, making her a revered deity.

Chaitra Navratri 2025 Day 3: Puja Vidhi

To worship Chandraghanta Mata, start by waking up early, taking a refreshing bath and wearing clean clothes. Set up a beautiful altar for the Goddess on the first day of Navaratri, marking the beginning of the nine-day celebration.

Begin the rituals by lighting a Ghee lamp and incense stick, creating a peaceful ambience. Offer a variety of items to the Goddess, including vibrant flowers like marigolds and sunflowers, kumkum, sindoor, sweets, milk and seasonal fruits. Don't forget to include milk products, which are especially pleasing to her.

Recite sacred texts like the Durga Saptashati Path and chalisa and chant Chandraghanta Mata's mantra to seek her blessings. Perform Aarti and sing or listen to devotional songs dedicated to her. After offering Bhog Prasad, break your fast with Sattvik food, completing the worship ritual with gratitude and devotion.
