Ganesh Visarjan is a highly significant ritual where Lord Ganesha goes back to his home on Mount Kailash after spending 10 days after Ganesh Chaturthi with his devotees. People believe that before he leaves, Ganesha eradicates problems and brings good fortune, promising to come back the next year. Ganesh Visarjan 2025: Rituals

To bid goodbye to Lord Ganesha, begin by purifying both your body and mind through a ritual bath and meditation. Wear clean clothes and conduct the ritualistic puja ceremony by offering dhoop, ghee deepak, Naivedya, incense and flowers. Offer coconuts, modaks and sugarcane to Lord Ganesha and apply tilak using Chandan, kesar and sindoor. Seek forgiveness from Bappa for any errors made during the puja and pray for blessings.

Perform the Ganesh Visarjan with respect and safety. Make sure the ceremony takes place at an auspicious time. Before immersion of the idol, make sure to tie some coconut and modaks in a red cloth with Ganpati Bappa for this further journey. Treat the idol with care, avoiding any disrespect. Immerse the idol of Bappa safely in a water body, staying out of deep waters. If you are performing Visarjan at home, make sure to use a new and clean planter pot or tub to perform the Visarjan.
