Hanuman Jayanti 2025 falls on 12th April 2025 this year. This sacred occasion marks the birth anniversary of Lord Hanuman as per the Hindu calendar. The sacred occasion of Hanumath Jayanti or Hanuman Jayanti is particularly significant for the devotees of Shri Ram and Bajrangbali. Devotees flock to several temples dedicated to Maruti Nandan on this sacred occasion to offer prayers and perform sacred rituals.
Lord Hanuman is known as - Sankatmochan, which means he is a revered deity to alleviates the sufferings and obstacles that come in the way of his devotees. This sacred temple is considered as a Shakti and Swayambhu sthal, with the principal deity - Balaji Hanuman being worshipped alongside other deities. The idol of Lord Balaji Hanuman at Salasar temple is distinctive that features a round face with a mustache and beard. Devotees believe that drinking water from the temple's wells is a blessing from Lord Balaji.
2. Hanuman Dhara, Chitrakoot
Located near Sitapur in Uttar Pradesh, The Hanuman Dhara Temple is situated in mountain range. A unique feature of the temple is the two ponds situated above the Lord Hanuman idol present in the place which remain perpetually filled with water. The water from these ponds flows continuously and create a stream that cascades over the idol. This unique happening has led to the temple being named Hanuman Dhara. Situated in Ayodhya, Hanuman Garhi temple is a 10th-century Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman. It is one of the city's most significant temples. This sacred abode of Lord Hanuman is a popular pilgrimage site with devotees believing that a visit to the Ram Temple should begin with a darshan of Bajrangbali at Hanuman Garhi. The temple has an an idol of Lord Hanuman as a child, seated on the lap of his mother Devi Anjani. According to legend, Lord Hanuman resided here after Lord Rama's victory over Ravana in the Ram-Ravan Yudh.
4. Sankat Mochan Mandir, Varanasi
Located in Varanasi, the Sankat Mochan Temple in Varanasi is a revered Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman in his form as the reliever from troubles. Established by the poet-saint Goswami Tulsidas in the 16th century, the Sankat Mochan Temple is situated on the banks of the Assi River. 6. Kashtabhanjan Hanuman Mandir, Salangpur
Situated in Sarangpur, Gujarat, the Kashtabhajan Hanuman Temple is a revered spiritual site dedicated to Lord Hanuman. The temple is part of the Swaminarayan Sampradaya and houses an idol of Lord Hanuman known as Kashtabhanjan Dev, meaning - Crusher of Sorrows. According to legend, the idol of Lord Hanuman was brought to life by Shri Gopalanand Swami, who touched it with a rod. The temple is famous for its healing rituals and the idol is depicted as a stout figure with a distinctive handlebar moustache, standing amidst sculpted foliage with monkey attendants.
7. Jakhoo Temple, Himachal Pradesh
Nestled in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, Jakhoo Temple is an ancient spiritual site dedicated to Lord Hanuman. Every year, a festival is held on Dussehra at this sacred abode, attracting devotees from afar. The temple premises have a towering statue of Shri Hanuman Ji that is considered to be one of the tallest in the world. According to the Ramayana, Lord Hanuman rested at this location while searching for the Sanjivni Booti to revive Lakshman Ji.
