Hariyali Teej 2023:Women traditionally commemorate Hariyali Teej on the third day, Tritiya Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Sawan month, one of the most important days in the Hindu calendar. During this festival, all Indian women - married or single observe fast and worship the goddess Parvati in an effort to seek marital bliss. A daylong fast, celebration, and prayers to Lord Shiva and Parvati are all part of the festivities. Today, people are celebrating this auspicious day of Hariyali Teej with great joy and fervor across the country

Celebrating the first Teej after marriage can be exciting and overwhelming. However, if you're fasting for the first time after marriage, there are a number of customs and obligations to keep in mind. Here are some things all new brides must keep in mind before observing Hariyali Teej Vrat for the first time.

Hariyali Teej 2023 Do’s 

- One day prior to the puja, apply mehendi to your palms.

- Get up early in the Brahma Mahurat on the day of Teej and take a bath.

- Avoid keeping a vrat if you have any health issues. To avoid health problems, make sure to drink water and consume a nutritious diet. 

- Pray to Lord Shiva and Mata Parvati throughout the puja for yourself, your husband, and everyone else you love.

- Enjoy yourself to the fullest as today is intended to be a day filled with celebrations.

- To represent longevity and happiness for their spouses, women wear green bangles.

- Make use of the presents sent from your parent's house including sarees, cosmetics, sweets, and fruits.

- To complete the fast ceremonies, listen to the vrat katha and Teej Mata songs.

Hariyali Teej 2023 Don’ts 

- Do not sleep in the afternoon while fasting as it is not considered auspicious according to religious beliefs. 

- Avoid consuming sweet and dehydrating eatables such as white sugar, salt, and coffee a day prior to the fast. You can consume a carb and protein-rich diet instead. 

- If you are unable to keep a vrat, do not exert yourself. If you're unwell, it is better that you don't keep a fast. Participate in the festivities and offer sincere prayers to the gods.

- Do not wear black and white clothes during the fast as they’re considered inauspicious. 

- Avoid lying or misleading your spouse because the goal of the fast is the husband's well-being.

- Women should be cognizant of the need to maintain a pure heart, emotions, and actions as they prepare for this particular day as well as the need to protect the environment in accordance with the spirit of the festival, which honours both nature and devotion.
