Jyeshtha Gauri Pujan 2023: Ganeshotsav began on September 19 and will go on till September 28. Most notably in Maharashtra, people celebrate the three-day Gauri Puja during this 11-day festival. The Gauri Puja is also known as Jyeshtha Gauri Avahana and Mangala Gauri Vrat. Sacred Hindu texts suggest that goddess Sita upheld this fast in order to have Lord Ram as her husband. When the Anuradha Nakshatra begins in the Shukla Paksha of the Hindu calendar month of Bhadrapada, devotees of devi Gauri and devi Mahalakshmi perform this puja in order to seek their choicest blessings. This year, the Jyeshtha Gauri vrat will begin on 21st September 2023 and will conclude on 23rd September 2023.
Jyeshtha Gauri Pujan 2023 Significance
The majority of Marathi households not only accommodate Ganpati Bappa but also get ready for Gauri Pujan, where they set up the idol of Goddess Gauri, Lord Ganesha's mother, and worship her alongside the idol of Lord Ganesha. The Goddess Mahalaxmi is equally adored as the Goddess Gauri. The Jyeshtha Gauri Pooja is a significant Hindu festival celebrated annually, especially by Marathi women. While single ladies observe the Mangala Gauri Vrat in the hopes of finding the ideal husband, married ladies observe it in the hopes of their husbands' long lives and health.

On the other hand, it is believed that Goddess Gauri, lord Ganesha's mother travels to worshippers' homes to look for Lord Ganesha, who spends Ganeshotsav at the residence of his devotees. When the goddess Gauri visits someone, their home is filled with wealth. On this day, devotees worship the twin Gauri and Ganesha statues even if they don't have a statue of lord Ganpati.
