Kharmas 2023: In Hinduism, Kharmas, also known as Malmas, is an inauspicious period. Significant ceremonies or rituals are considered unfavourable at this time. The period of Kharmas has begun on 16th December 2023 and will go on till 15th January 2024. Astrologically, Kharmas takes place when the Sun movies on either Sagittarius or Pisces zodiac signs.
According to astrologers, the Sun God travels through one sign of the zodiac for thirty days. Due to the Sun God's strong influence, Jupiter, the lord of Sagittarius and Pisces, has less of an impact while it is in these signs. As a result, it distresses for one month. During this period, it is not permitted to carry out any auspicious tasks. Auspicious activities such as marriage, upanayana, mundan, and other auspicious activities are not carried out during the Kharmas period.
