Masik Shivratri April 2025: Married and unmarried women observe the sacred fast of Masik to seek the blessings of Lord Shiva. Married women fast for their husbands' and sons' well-being, while unmarried girls seek a good husband. On the Krishna Paksha Chaturdashi of every Hindu lunar month, Masik Shivratri puja and vrat are performed. It is believed that offering prayers to Lord Shiva on this day is highly rewarding. The devotees worship Lord Shiva, seeking his divine blessings and protection. This year, Masik Shivratri during the Hindu month of Vaishakh is going to fall on 26th April 2025.

Masik Shivratri April 2025: Significance
Observing the sacred vrat of Shivratri grants many rewards, such as good health, joy and career growth. Believers can also achieve victory over enemies, rise above the fear of death and enjoy overall well-being. The sacred day holds great importance as it marks Lord Shiva's appearance as a Lingam. Devotees perform puja on Lord Shiva on this day, praying to him and requesting his divine grace for a peaceful life.

Masik Shivratri April 2025: Rituals
On Masik Shivratri, the devotees keep a day-long fast and pray to Lord Shiva with devotion. They perform Shiv puja at home and visit Shiva temples in their early morning after taking a holy bath. While doing puja, they perform Abhishek with milk and water, Bilva leaves and other pious substances to the Shiva Linga.
The puja is performed by creating an altar with an idol or photograph of Lord Shiva, offering a variety of sacred objects such as Ganga water, milk and chandan paste. Devotees recite the names of Lord Shiva, observe a night-long vigil and do aarti, ending the puja with prayers. Ideally, the puja is performed at midnight, which is a very auspicious time.
During the fast, devotees eat fruits and juices and break their fast only the following morning. The puja culminates by offering plain rice and yellow curry prepared using gram flour to Lord Shiva. By performing these rituals, devotees pray for the blessings of Lord Shiva, spiritual enlightenment, and divine guidance.
