Nautapa 2025: Jyeshtha, the third month of the Hindu Calendar also heralds the height of summer heat. As Earth becomes very hot, the period of Nautapa begins. According to Hindu belief, Nautapa begins at the start of the month of Jyeshtha as the Sun enters the Rohini Nakshatra and brings severe heat for all living beings for nine days in its heat at its most intense. There are some plants that are auspicious to plant during this time in some beliefs that will bring positive energy and prosperity to the home.

2. Peepal: The Peepal tree is regarded as the dwelling place of Lord Vishnu, Brahma, Mahesh, and other gods in Hinduism. Planting Peepal tree during Nautapa is believed to bring ancestral blessings and bring happiness and prosperity to the household.

3. Shami: This sacred plant holds special prominence during Nautapa because it represents Lord Surya. Shami is planted in the sacredness of a sacred plant to reinforce the Sun in the horoscope and to neutralise the obstruction, and heating of many difficulties in life.

4. Amla: In Hinduism, Amla is associated with Goddess Lakshmi. It is also advised to plant Amla during Nautapa, as its said health benefits as well as attracting energy and abundance and merit into your life.

5. Banana Tree: As per the Hindu beliefs, Banana Tree is linked to Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi. Planting banana trees during Nautapa are believed to enhance wealth, steadfastness and family harmony. Make sure to not plant this tree at your home, as it considered inauspicious as per Vastu principles.
