Parashuram Dwadashi 2026: According to the Hindu Panchang, Parashurama Dwadashi or Rukmini Dwadashi falls on the Dwadashi tithi of the Shukla Paksha of the month of Vaishakh. This particular tithi is devoted to the worship of the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu, that is, Shri Parashurama. Since Lord Parashurama is an incarnation of Shri Hari, worshipping Him on this auspicious day brings great spiritual merits to devotees.

Parashuram Dwadashi 2026: Significance
According to the holy books, there is great importance in performing charitable deeds on the day of Vaishakh Shukla Dwadashi. According to the Padma Purana, one earns unlimited spiritual merits by donating food, water, clothing, or even gold on this auspicious day. As per the Narada Purana and Bhavishya Purana, Lord Vishnu, who is also known as Madhusudan, is worshipped on this day. Hence, the day is also referred to as Madhusudan Dwadashi.
Parashuram Dwadashi 2026: Rituals
According to the Narada Purana, one should observe a fast and ritually perform the abhishekam of Lord Madhusudan with a pitcher full of pure milk on Madhusudan Dwadashi or Parashuram Dwadashi. It is considered auspicious to remain awake throughout the night on this day and worship the Lord three times.

Following the puja, one should offer oblations of ghee into the sacred fire while chanting mantras 108 times. It is said that by observing the fast in this prescribed manner, all of a person's sins are erased and they attain spiritual merit equivalent to that of performing eight Ashwamedha yajnas.
