Shri Radha Vallabh Temple Vrindavan is dedicated to the worship of Radha Rani and Lord Krishna. It is located in the city of Vrindavan in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. The temple is a major centre of worship for the Radha Vallabh sect and was founded under the inspiration of the Vrindavan saint Shri Hith Harivansh Mahaprabhu. 1. The Unique Idol Of Lord Radha Vallabh Laal

The Radha Vallabh idol was not created by a sculptor. It was gifted by Lord Shiva to a devotee named Atmadev in Charathaval as a result of his rigorous penance. The sacred Hindu scriptures suggest that when Harivansh Mahaprabhu embarked on a pilgrimage to Vrindavan, Shri Radha Rani commanded him to marry Atmadev's daughters and take the idol with him.

2. No Idol Of Radha Rani, But She Is Always Present In The Temple

What makes the Radha Vallabhji Temple unique is that there is no idol of his beloved Radha Rani here, but a crown is placed near the idol of Lord Krishna to symbolise her presence! It is believed that only devotees with hearts filled with love, devotion, and purity can have darshan of the sacred divine idol.

3. Wedding Ceremony Processions Of Lord Radha Vallabh

Radha Vallabh Temple, Vrindavan, is also famous for its regular processions celebrating the Lord's wedding. This ritual, known locally as Bhagwan Ka Byawala, draws large crowds of devotees and is a major attraction for various rituals.

4. History Of Sewa At Shri Radha Vallabh Temple

The original temple of Shri Radha Vallabh Laal was built approximately 450 years ago, but it was damaged during the reign of the Mughal ruler Aurangzeb. To protect the idol of Shri Radha Vallabh Ji, it was taken to Kaman in the Bharatpur district of Rajasthan and installed in a temple there. It remained worshipped there for 123 years. It was returned to Vrindavan and installed in a newly constructed temple when the conditions were favourable.

The construction of the new temple dedicated to Shri Radha Vallabh was completed in Vikram Samvat 1881 (1824 AD). This is the same location where Radha Vallabh Ji is enshrined today. This temple is maintained under the seva and pujan of the descendants or Vanshaj of Shri Harivansh Mahaprabhu.

5. Fascinating Architecture Of Shri Radha Vallabh Mandir

Shri Radha Vallabh Temple is constructed of red sandstone, a material used only in royal buildings and forts in the 18th Century. Its walls are approximately 10 feet thick and are built in two levels. The temple is constructed in the distinctive Nagara style.
