The Ram Lalla idol, crafted from black stone was consecrated at Ayodhya's Ram Mandir on January 22, 2024 in a grand ceremony led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This 51-inch statue beautifully captures Lord Ram's childhood avatar, exuding a sense of divinity and spirituality. The devotees believe that its intricate details and craftsmanship evoke reverence as if the deity has truly manifested.

1. Stone Used For Preparing The Divine Idol: The Balak Ram statue is crafted from black Shaligram stone which is thousands of years old. This durable material ensures the statue remains unaffected by water. Additionally applying sandalwood, vermilion and other substances will not harm the statue. Its resilience makes it an ideal choice for a revered object. The black Shaligram stone's natural properties provide long-lasting protection and preservation. This allows the statue to maintain its beauty and integrity over time.

2. Weight Of The Statue: The idol of Shri Balak Ram Lalla weighs approximately 200 kilograms and stands 4.24 feet tall with a width of three feet. It is depicted in a standing posture on a lotus petal holding a bow and arrow in its hand. The statue's design showcases intricate details and craftsmanship.

3. Unique Deptictions On The Statue: The divine idol of Shri Ram Lalla features symbols such as Swastika, Om, Chakra, Mace and Sun God at the top. It depicts the 10 avatars of Lord Vishnu. At the base, Hanuman ji is positioned on one side and Garuda ji on the other, showcasing devotion and spiritual significance.

4. The Craftsmanship Behind the Idol: Sculptor Arun Yogiraj created the Balak Ram idol representing a five-year-old form of Lord Ram. The idol was crafted following the Shilpa Shastra a sacred scripture that guides traditional Indian sculpture. Yogiraj's work embodies the principles of this ancient text.

5. Unique Features of the Balak Ram Idol: This sacred idol of Shri Ram Lalla differs from other South Indian idols as it lacks carved weapons. Instead it features a golden bow and arrow crafted by Chennai artisans. The bow is modelled after Rama's Kodaṇḍa as described in the Ramayana. This distinctive design adds to the idol's unique character.

6. The Divine Surya Tilak: On every Ram Navami, the Sun's rays will fall on the forehead of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya, creating a divine 'tilak' appearance. An elaborate mechanism using mirrors and lenses will project sunlight onto the idol's forehead at noon every year, giving the impression of a sacred mark on the deity’s forehead which is unique in itself.
