Shardiya Navratri 2025: Maa Durga, revered as the embodiment of strength, courage and divine energy, holds immense significance in Hinduism as the protector of her devotees and remover of obstacles. Offering items such as fresh flowers, fruits, sweets and incense during worship is believed to invite her blessings, promote prosperity and foster spiritual growth. Devotees also light lamps and chant mantras to connect with her divine energy. However, it is equally important to avoid offering certain items as these are considered disrespectful and may attract negative energy.

Below is the list of 5 items that must not be offered to Maa Durga even by mistake, as these might invite misfortune:

Shardiya Navratri 2025: 5 Items You Must Not Offer To Maa Durga Even By Mistake

1. Old or Stale Fruits

During Maa Durga’s worship, only fresh fruits should be offered as prasad. Fruits that have been kept at home for several days or have become stale should never be used, as fresh offerings symbolise purity, devotion and respect.

2. Impure Flowers

Flowers hold special importance in Maa Durga’s worship, but only clean and sacred blooms should be offered. Flowers picked from impure or unclean places, or those that have fallen to the ground, must never be used, as they may disrupt the spiritual energy of the ritual.
