Solar Eclipse 2024: When the Moon passes in front of the Sun and blocks out some of the Sun's light on Earth, this phenomenon is known as a solar eclipse. Solar eclipse is also known as Surya Grahan. A total solar eclipse will take place on 8th April 2024. A total solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes so far behind the Sun that the Earth is momentarily fully illuminated by the Sun's light. It is referred to as Khagras in Hindu Vedic Astrology. This solar eclipse is the first total solar eclipse of the year.

Solar Eclipse 2024: Sutak Kaal
In actuality, the Sutak period begins twelve hours ahead of the eclipse. In such circumstances, the Sutak period will begin on April 8 at 9:12 AM. However, the Sutak period's influence will only be observed in the location of this eclipse's visibility. Since the eclipse will not be visible in India, the Sutak Kaal will not be implied.
Solar Eclipse 2024: Do’s And Don’ts To Follow During Eclipse
- The Sutak Kaal begins twelve hours before a solar eclipse and five hours before a lunar eclipse, respectively.
- Praying, participating in religious rites, and undertaking auspicious tasks are discouraged during the Sutak time since it is deemed inauspicious.
- During this time, it is forbidden to cook or eat, and temples are closed.
