Shri Vaishno Devi Dham is one of the most significant Hindu pilgrimage sites. 33 Crore Hindu gods are believed to reside in the cave shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi, who is regarded as the manifestation of Devi Lakshmi, Devi Saraswati and Devi Kaali. Over 10 million pilgrims visit Vaishno Devi annually, making it an all-year pilgrimage. In order to pray to the Goddess for her blessing and express gratitude for having had their wishes fulfilled, the devotees take various measures such as going barefoot up at the Bhawan.
It is believed that only those devotees who receive a divine "Bulawa" or call from Mata Vaishno Devi can enter her exquisite abode. A large number of devotees visit the temple during Navratri to soak in the splendour of the celebrations and the exquisite decorations at the shrine. Significance Of Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine
The Mata Vaishno Devi Temple is regarded as Goddess Sati's most significant Shakti Peetha. It is believed that following the Daksha Yagna incident, the goddess' skull fell here. The three Pindies in the cave are thought to emerge from a single rock and serve as images of the Mother Goddess Shakti. Each one has a unique texture and colour. The Pindi of Goddess Mahakali is black and symbolises unknown energy. The Pindi of Goddess Mahalakshmi is yellowish and signifies wealth, prosperity, and quality of life. The Pindi of Goddess Saraswati is white and represents purity of life.
