Vat Savitri Vrat 2025: Vat Savitri Amavasya Vrat holds significant meaning for married women. They observe a fast to pay tribute to Goddess Gauri and the renowned pair Satyavan and Savitri. Throughout this period, women seek prayers for their husbands' longevity and joy, wishing for a harmonious marriage. Clad in wedding attire and ornaments, they revere the Banyan tree, presenting water, rice, and blooms. They carefully wrap threads around the tree and circle it 108 times. This ceremony demonstrates their affection and dedication to their partners, honouring their connection and aspiring to remain loyal across all existences. This year, Vat Savitri Amavasya Vrat will be observed on 26th May 2025.

On this sacred day, married Hindu women must adhere to certain dos and don’ts to maintain the sanctity of the day and ensure the blessings of Akhand Saubhagya. Check out the list of guidelines that must be followed on Vat Savitri Amavasya Vrat below:

Vat Savitri Vrat 2025: Dos And Don’ts Married Hindu Woman MUST Follow On Vat Savitri Amavasya

- If you're fasting, limit yourself to water or only fruits if a complete fast cannot be done. Your well-being is the priority, so consider thoughtfully your approach to fasting.

- Adorn yourself with solah shringar on this day. Avoid wearing black and white hues on this day as they are considered inauspicious for married women in Hinduism and might disrupt the sanctity of this vrat.

- When performing the puja, approach it with genuine sincerity. Offer items such as roli, rice, blossoms, and fruits to the Banyan tree, and water its roots during the rituals.

- Circumbate seven times around the Banyan tree, wrapping a thread around it. As you proceed, ponder the tale of Savitri and Satyavan, symbolising dedication and development in your spiritual journey.

- Maintain clarity in your mind and spirit by avoiding negativity, anger, and deceit. It's all about being honest and showing respect and kindness to others.

- Look after yourself while fasting. If you're on a strict fast, avoid pushing yourself physically to maintain your energy.

- Perform parana of your fast only after performing puja and steer clear of heavy meals. Additionally, do not consume Tamasic food items. Ensure you approach this purposefully and with appreciation for a rewarding experience.
