Vivah Panchami 2023: The well-known Hindu festival known as Vivah Panchami commemorates the wedding anniversary of Bhagwan Shri Ram and Mata Sita. Vivah Panchami is observed on the fifth day of Shukla Paksha in the month of Margashirsha, much like in the Hindu Panchanga. The celebration begins, much like any other Hindu wedding, a few days early. Devotees perform every rite with the same delight, passion, and dedication as if they were taking part in a beautiful wedding ceremony. This year, the auspicious occasion of Vivah Panchami is being celebrated on 17th December 2023.
Vivah Panchami 2023: Significance Of This Sacred Day
Vivah Panchami holds great significance since it is considered a holy and auspicious day in Hindu mythology and ancient scripture. In order to participate in the great festivals and celebrate their favourite deity's holy wedding feast, a sizable number of pilgrims from all over India and beyond come together. Nearly every region in India with Ram-Sita temples celebrates Vivah Panchami. The most significant celebrations take place in Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Ram, and Janakpur, the birthplace of Goddess Sita, among other places in India.
On this auspicious day, lamps and lights adorn the temples. A divine wedding ritual involves the use of sculptures or idols of the gods, exquisitely adorned with jewels and attire like that of the bride, as well as sacred Hindu marital rites and Vedic procedures.
