Lakshya, who did qualify for the summit clash of the ongoing tournament way back in 2022, stunned everyone by defeating the defending champion Jonatan Christie on Thursday. Before entering the quarterfinal against Li, Lakshya did have the upper edge of being fresh as Li's matches got extended to three games during his previous two matches.

The game started with Lakshya looking more confident amongst the two players. He was leading by 4-3, but then Li Shi Feng changed the tide of the match and dominated it completely. The Chinese maintained his composure and didn't commit any unforced error. He was able to defend successfully and didn't let Lakshya settle even for a moment. Sen was visibly frustrated as he committed unforced errors, especially when he tried to play the backline.
