India secured their second silver medal in rowing at the Asian Games 2023, demonstrating impressive teamwork and strength in the Men's Coxed Eight event with a timing of 05:43.01. Earlier, Babulal Yadav and Lekh Ram had earned a bronze in the Men's Coxless Pair Rowing event, clocking a time of 6:50:41.
In the field of shooting, India celebrated further success as Ramita Jindal clinched a bronze medal in the 10m Air Rifle Women's (Individual) event. This marked India's second medal in the shooting discipline at the games.

Indian rowers Arjun Lal Jat and Arvind Singh made a significant contribution by securing a silver medal in the highly competitive men's lightweight doubles sculls event in the first competitive Rowing race of the day. Their performance at the Fuyang Water Sports Centre in Hangzhou added to India's medal tally and marked a historic moment as their first-ever rowing medal in these games.

Earlier in the day, India's women's 10m Air Rifle team, composed of Ramita, Mehuli Ghosh, and Ashi Chouksey, secured a silver medal, marking India's inaugural medal in the event. Their outstanding performance in the Women's 10-metre Air Rifle category resulted in a remarkable combined score of 1886, with Ramita leading the way with 631.9 points, followed by Mehuli with 630.8, and Ashi with 623.3 points.
In the other sports news, the Indian women's cricket team secured a spot in the final of the Asian Games 2023 after defeating Bangladesh comprehensively in the semi-final clash. Pooja Vastrakar's four-wicket haul was instrumental in bundling out Bangladesh for a mere 51 runs. India comfortably chased down the target in 8.2 overs, claiming an emphatic eight-wicket victory.
India now has five medals and is placed at the third spot in the medal tally after China and Hong Kong, China.
