Indian tennis players Ramkumar Ramanathan and Saketh Myneni clinched the silver medal in the men's doubles event at the Asian Games after a hard-fought final. The Indian duo was edged by the unseeded team from Chinese Taipei, Hsu Yu-Hsiou and Jason Jung, who displayed superior skills and strategy throughout the match.
Hsu and Jung, despite being unseeded, showcased their prowess with strong serves, lightning-fast net play, and effective groundstrokes. They secured a 6-4, 6-4 victory against the second-seeded Indian pair in the title clash.

This silver medal marked Ramkumar Ramanathan's first Asian Games medal and the third for Saketh Myneni, who had previously won a men's doubles silver and a mixed doubles gold in the 2014 Incheon edition of the Asian Games. The medal also represents the first tennis medal for India in this edition of the Asian Games.
Despite the loss, the Indian pair expressed their happiness about securing a medal for India and acknowledged the significance of competing in the Asian Games. Ramkumar Ramanathan highlighted the importance of each tournament in their profession and looked forward to contributing more medals for their country in future competitions.
The closely contested final saw both teams displaying impressive serving skills, with Hsu and Jung ultimately securing the crucial break to win the match. While the Indian duo saved some break points, the Taipei team's consistent play at the net and baseline proved to be the deciding factor in the final.
Rohan Bopanna and Rutuja Bhosale also have the opportunity to secure a medal for India in the mixed doubles event, ensuring that Indian tennis maintains a strong presence in the Asian Games.
