India's remarkable success in shooting at the ongoing Asian Games in Hangzhou continued as two young talents, Palak and Esha Singh, secured a gold and silver medal, respectively, in the 10m air pistol women's individual final.
Palak, aged 17, established herself as a rising star in the sport by clinching the gold with an individual score of 242.1 points. She also set a new Asian Games record in her category, surpassing China's previous record from 2018. Esha Singh, aged 18, showcased her exceptional shooting skills by securing the silver medal with 239.7 points, marking her fourth medal in these games.
The Indian shooting contingent has been delivering outstanding performances, accumulating a total of 17 medals at the Asian Games in Hangzhou. India's overall medal tally has now reached 30, with eight gold, 11 silver, and 11 bronze medals.

In addition to the women's individual pistol final, the Indian men's team of Swapnil Kusal, Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, and Akhil Sheoran also clinched a gold medal in the 50m rifle men's three-position event. The team scored 1769 points, securing the gold and breaking the world record previously held by the USA with 1761 points.
India's shooting prowess has been a standout feature of their performance at the Asian Games, and the contingent continues to excel in various categories, adding to the nation's medal tally.
