Chen came storming out in the final round and landed a couple of sharp jabs on Parveen's jaw. The Indian remained composed, dancing away from the pressure and responding with quick one-two combinations.
As Chen pushed forward in search of decisive punches, Parveen relied on counter-punching and movement to see out the contest.
The judges eventually awarded Parveen a 3-2 split-decision victory, confirming her as the Asian Games champion.
A heartwarming moment followed the final, with Chen, a cancer survivor, lifting Parveen in celebration despite the defeat.
The triumph also marked a major redemption for Parveen, who had lost her Hangzhou Asian Games bronze medal following a doping whereabouts failure.
She returned to the Asian Games stage determined to make an impact and delivered by defeating a former world champion on her way to the gold medal.

The Indian boxer repeatedly ducked, bobbed and weaved away from Kim's attacks before responding with sharp combinations. Having established a sizeable lead across the judges' scorecards, Ankush was able to adopt a more defensive approach in the later stages.
Kim managed to land some punches, including a fast left uppercut, but struggled to cope with Ankush's movement and speed. The Indian also connected with several clean body shots as the contest progressed.
There was little doubt about the eventual winner, with Ankush securing a 4-0 victory.
One judge scored the bout 28-28, while the other three had it 30-26 in Ankush's favour, underlining the Indian's control of the contest.
The reigning Commonwealth champion's victory also ended India's wait for a men's Asian Games boxing gold, making Ankush the first Indian man to win the continental title since Amit Panghal in 2018.
India Add Two More Gold Medals
The victories of Parveen and Ankush provided another major boost to India's campaign at the Asian Games. Parveen's triumph came after a tense final against Chen, while Ankush controlled his bout against Kim to secure a comfortable victory.
With the two boxing gold medals added to the tally, India's gold medal count rose to 15 at the 2026 Asian Games.
For Parveen, the victory completed a remarkable comeback on the continental stage, while Ankush's triumph saw him follow in the footsteps of Amit Panghal as an Indian men's Asian Games boxing champion.
