India will have a strong presence in combat sports at the Asian Games 2026. Olympic medallist Aman Sehrawat, Antim Panghal, Lovlina Borgohain and several established names set to spearhead the country's wrestling and martial arts challenge in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.
The Games will take place from September 19 to October 4, with wrestling scheduled from September 30 to October 3.
India will compete across wrestling, boxing, judo, wushu, karate, kurash, mixed martial arts and taekwondo.
Aman Sehrawat, Antim Panghal Lead Wrestling Squad
Olympic bronze medallist Aman Sehrawat will headline India's men's freestyle challenge in the 57kg category. He will be joined by Sujeet Kalkal (65kg), Sagar Jaglan (74kg), Deepak Punia (97kg) and Rajat Ruhal (125kg).
In women's freestyle, Antim Panghal will compete at 53kg alongside Dipanshi (50kg), Manisha Bhanwala (57kg), Mansi Ahlawat (62kg), Nisha Dahiya (68kg) and Priya Malik (76kg).
India's Greco-Roman squad includes Sumit Dalal (60kg), Deepak (67kg), Aman Baroniya (77kg), Sunil Kumar (87kg), Nitesh Kumar (97kg) and Deepanshu Ahlawat (130kg).
However, there has been a late change to the squad. Mukul Dahiya, originally selected in the men's 86kg freestyle category, was provisionally suspended following a doping violation, leaving India without a representative in that weight class.
Wrestling Schedule At Asian Games 2026
Wrestling will be held at the Inae Sports Center in Nagoya from September 30 to October 3.
September 30: Greco-Roman and women's 68kg
October 1: Greco-Roman and women's 62kg
October 2: Men's freestyle 65kg and 125kg; women's 50kg and 76kg
October 3: Men's freestyle 57kg, 74kg and 97kg; women's 53kg and 57kg
Therefore, Aman Sehrawat's 57kg and Antim Panghal's 53kg campaigns are scheduled for the final day of wrestling competition.
Boxing: Lovlina Headlines The Challenge
India's boxing squad features Olympic bronze medallist Lovlina Borgohain, who will compete in the women's 75kg category. She is joined by Sakshi Chaudhary (51kg), Preeti Pawar (54kg), Priya Ghanghas (60kg) and Parveen Hooda (65kg).
The men's squad includes Jadumani Singh (55kg), Sachin Siwach (60kg), Sumit Kundu (70kg), Ankush (80kg), Kapil Pokhariya (90kg) and Narender Berwal (+90kg).
Boxing competition runs from September 21 to October 2, with preliminary bouts followed by the semifinals and finals.
Wushu, Judo And Other Martial Arts
India's seven-member wushu squad consists of Aryan (56kg), Vikrant Baliyan (75kg), Suraj Singh Mayanglambam, Nyeman Wangsu, Aparna (52kg), Naorem Roshibina Devi (60kg) and Langlentombi Devi Hanjabam. Wushu is scheduled from September 20 to 24.
In judo, India will be represented by Asmita Dey (48kg), Yamini Mourya (57kg) and Inunganbi Takhellambam (70kg), with the competition running from September 30 to October 3.

The karate squad features Chetan Bhatt (84kg) and Alisha Choudhary (55kg), while India will also compete in kurash, with Vipin Kumar, Vishal, Yash Kumar, Bharti, Sangita Balhara and Pincky Chauhan.
India's mixed martial arts representatives are Varun Sanyal (traditional 77kg) and Suchika Tariyal (traditional 60kg). In taekwondo, Rupa Bayor will compete in women's individual poomsae, alongside Kashish Malik (57kg) and Jyoti Yadav (+67kg).
India won six wrestling medals at the previous Asian Games in Hangzhou, including one silver and five bronze.
