Lionel Messi Goals, Inter Miami CF vs FC Cincinnati Result: Lionel Messi has been in incredible form and continues to score goals and register assists for fun as he produced another match-winning effort for Inter Miami. The Messi-led side defeated FC Cincinnati 4-0 on Sunday to keep their hopes alive for the first MLS Cup final appearance.

Messi scored once again and assisted in all other goals for Inter, with Tadeo Allende scoring twice and Mateo Silvetti adding the third goal. The remarkable win takes Miami into next Saturday’s Eastern Conference championship, where they will face either top seeds Philadelphia or New York City FC.

The Argentine legend has become the first player in the history of football to record 1300 goal contributions. Messi now has 896 goals and 404 assists in 1134 matches and also set an MLS playoff record with 12 goal contributions (six goals and six assists). Messi headed into the match on the back of a goal and an assist to help Argentina beat Angola in an international friendly a few days ago.

Earlier, he had produced a memorable effort against Nashville SC with two goals as Inter Miami made it to the Eastern Conference semis for the first time in their history. However, the eight-time Ballon d'Or winner Messi hadn't scored in three matches against Cincinnati, but that streak ended on Sunday. Messi, a World Cup champion with Argentina, scored his 11th goal in the last seven games.

Miami coach Javier Mascherano praised Messi and his teammates after an almost perfect performance. "I'm proud of how the team played on a very difficult pitch against a very difficult opponent," Mascherano said.

Following the win, Messi took to social media to express his excitement. "LET'S GOOOO!!! reat match from the whole team against a rival that had always given us so much trouble. One step closer…," wrote Messi.
