Us Open 2025: Amanda Anisimova scripted a stunning upset, knocking out the six-time Grand Slam champion Iga Swiatek 6-4, 6-3 to reach her first US Open semi-final.
This victory marks a remarkable turnaround and revenge for Anisimova, who had faced a severe 6-0, 6-0 defeat to Swiatek in the Wimbledon final just two months prior.
Anisimova turned the tables on Swiatek in front of a blistering New York crowd, displaying a commanding performance that starkly contrasted with her tearful departure at Wimbledon just a few months prior.

"Playing here is so freaking special. I've been having the run of my life here... Today proved everything for me. I can do it," Anisimova said in her on-court interview.
"Today is definitely the most meaningful victory I've had in my life. I really came out there with, like, not an ounce of fear... I was constantly moving and trying to get myself going," she told reporters.
Anisimova showcased a confident and aggressive game early on, which surprised Swiatek with a well-timed high backhand volley, transforming four of nine break points and winning 67 of 121 points.
