IO Interactive has finally revealed the title of the long-awaited James Bond game as 007 First Light. Previously held under the title Project 007, the game will be fully revealed on June 6 during the studio’s first-ever IOI Showcase. The developers behind the Hitman series have also confirmed that the game will include an entirely original story where players will “earn their 00 status” as James Bond. Along with the reveal, IOI will provide updates on MindsEye and Hitman: World of Assassinations.

Storyline: Original Bond origin story, unassociated with any existing movie or actor likeness.

Plot Premise: Players will control James Bond before he becomes a 00 agent.

IOI has confirmed that 007 First Light is not based on any existing adaptation of Bond films. Instead, it hopes to start a brand new trilogy featuring a modern approach to the iconic spy.

Development Background

The game has been under development since 2020, io interactive has been working around the clock. The CEO of IOI, Hakan Abrak said that ‘Bornd’s wont be a gamification of a movie’ but rather ‘ a fresh origin story’. IOI also plans on making this a trilogy.
